Membership Levels

The SVBT Memership year is from January 1st to December 31st annually.

Professional Membership ($45.00 yearly):

Professional Membership is available to any veterinary technician who has graduated from an AVMA approved and accredited college or school of veterinary technology or any technician with a current veterinary technician credential in their state of practice. Applicants will be expected to provide a credential number when you apply for membership.

Professional members may serve on SVBT committees, serve on the Board of Directors and vote in all SVBT polls and elections. Additionally, Professional members are eligible for all SVBT scholarship applications, receive a subscription to "The Behavior Perspective," are eligible for discounts with our partners and sponsors, and access to the SVBT Members Forum and Members Only website.

Associate Membership ($45.00 yearly):

An Associate Membership is open to those involved in behavior, but not fitting the description of professional or student membership. Associate members shall not be eligible to serve as officers of SVBT or vote in society affairs, but may at the discretion of the Board of Directors, serve on committees.

Student Membership ($25.00 yearly):

A Student Membership is open to those students currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited program for veterinary technicians. Students members may not vote or serve on the Board of Directors. Student members are welcomed and encouraged to serve on SVBT Committees.

Subscription Membership ($45.00 yearly):

Any person who does not fit the criteria for Professional or Student membership are invited to become Subscription members. Subscription members receive a subscription to "The Behavior Perspective," limited access to the SVBT Member forum and discounts from our partners and sponsors. Subscription members may not apply for SVBT scholarships and are not permitted to vote, serve on the Board of Directors or serve on Committees.
