Kait Hembree, KPA-CTP, BS, LVT, VTS (Behavior)
Kait has been working in the veterinary medicine field for over 15 years in both general and specialty practices. Her career began after graduating from Montana State University in 2000 when she began working as an assistant veterinary technician directing her focus towards small animal medicine and care. In 2005, Kait became a Certified Veterinary Technician at which time she expanded her interests to include animal behavior both in and out of the veterinary environment including positive reinforcement dog training, special needs pet-sitting and puppy socialization classes. In 2009, Kait began pursuing her Veterinary Technician Specialty-Behavior. As part of that pursuit, Kait attended the 2010, 2011 and 2014 behavior symposiums presented by SVBT and AVBT; joined the Karen Pryor Dog academy graduating in September 2011 as a certified training partner; and became an active board member with SVBT as their Recording Secretary (2011-2015). In July 2015 while teaching as an Adjunct Instructor for the Veterinary Technology program at Sanford Brown, Kait achieved her VTS-Behavior. Kait lives in North Carolina and currently works in general practice. She is the owner and operator of Minds at Ease, a specialty pet sitting service and is in the process of expanding her business to include puppy socialization classes, positive reinforcement training classes, individual instruction focusing on behavior modification and problem prevention counseling.
